Overview

Connolly or O’Conghaile in old Gaelic means ‘as fierce as a wolf’. The Irish name Connolly derives from a number of different Irish septs. One of the four ancient tribes of Tara and a branch of the great southern O’Neill Clan. This old Irish sept are descendants of the legendary Brian Boru, a former High King Of Ireland and who died in the battle of Clontarf in the year 1014. Over the last 100 years, the Connolly name has been long associated with distribution, including liquors and beers in and around Dublin, Ireland.
